Plastic Surgeon Lena Carstensen

Lena Carstensen is a Chief Surgeon at Aleris and a specialist in plastic, breast and cosmetic surgery. She trained at Rigshospitalet and the university hospitals in Roskilde, Ringsted and Herlev. Lena is an experienced cosmetic surgeon and has been working at Aleris since 2010.

Lena is our most experienced surgeon in corrective surgery following previous breast operations, both cosmetic procedures and breast cancer surgery. In 2013, she became the first plastic surgeon in Denmark to be certified as a breast surgeon. She is also one of the few surgeons in Denmark qualified to remove and reconstruct a breast during the same operation.

Lena has developed several surgical techniques in oncoplastic breast surgery, which have been published in leading international medical journals. She regularly gives lectures at international conferences and has organised international surgical training courses in cosmetic and reconstructive surgery. She has also taught anatomy for more than 25 years.
